This weekend workshop will not only offer participants an opportunity to learn the finer skills of Outdoor Photography but will also provide excellent natural subjects to be photographed. The bushveld is a biodiversity “treasure chest” of nature which can be explored by foot or in open safari vehicles. Ample time will be allowed for practical photographic sessions and there will be a professional photographer on hand to assist and demonstrate important techniques throughout the event. Emphasis will be placed on the most important nature photographic processes such as how to set up your camera, getting into the right position how to “compose” the photograph and how to obtain crisp images.

You will be hosted in the luxury Berchtesgaden Game Ranch and Lifestyle Farm just outside Vaalwater, in the centre of the Waterberg Biosphere, to experience the bushveld at its’ best.  The abundance of game and birdlife will be the focal point of the lens.

FRIDAY

13h30 – Participants start arriving at Lodge

14h30  - Welcoming and briefing over tea and scones

15h00 – Introductory lecture and demonstration – Principles of outdoor photography and 

“understanding your camera” Fstop, Shutterspeed, ISO, Depth of field and 1/3 lines.

16h00 – Short drive to photograph landscapes and sunset. Download and show basics of Photoshop.

19h00 – Dinner and discussion of photos taken during the afternoon.

SATERDAY

06h00 – Tea/coffee and rusks preceed an early morning photographic game drive on open safari vehicle

09h00 – Return to lodge for discussion by participants on selected photographs

11h00 – Brunch and siesta / me-time

14h00 – Practical Photoshop demonstration

15h30 – Afternoon photographic session in field by game viewing vehicle

18h30 – Dinner

19h30 – Reviewing photos taken during the afternoon.

SUNDAY

06h00 – Tea, coffee and rusks preceed the early morning photographic game drive on open safari vehicle

08h30 – Return to lodge for Breakfast

09h00 – Breakfast

10h00 – Participants select their photographs for viewing

14h00 – Light lunch and closing

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING ALONG

• Personal camera equipment all lenses, including tripod, cable release and monopod.
• Your camera instruction manual( which you must read from beginning to end 3 TIMES)
• Laptop or other portable computer( for Photoshop)
• Light comfortable outdoor clothes and shoes ( warm clothes for open vehicle)
