This is where firearm enthusiasts are likely to spend most of their time. From setting your sights on targets at 300 meters and making clays fall from the sky to making our rapid-fire disc gongs sing a metal-on-metal song, you will have no shortage of things to shoot at. All this will be from our safe and comfortable shooting cabin dubbed the Marksman’s Nest. This is a great place to spend some time, Braai & practise your various shooting styles.
Located at the main lodge, overlooking the waterhole where animals tend to gather, is our well-equipped wellness centre. It is here where body treatments can be booked and enjoyed in our private therapy room, or if the urge for a good workout session is present, the adjacent gym will be open 24/7 with all the essential exercise equipment you might need.
What better way to explore the mesmerizing Waterberg bushveld and mountains than being one with nature on the back of your trusty steed. Choose to explore Berchtesgaden on a short ride or explore far and wide on a horseback adventure. Experience the calmness that comes with riding horseback as the wild game embrace their four-legged friends.
Whether you are an avid fisherman, or an occasional line-thrower, fishing at Berchtesgaden promises to be a fun pastime. Upon request your activity concierge will pack you a cold cooler, ready the rods, fetch fresh bait and set you up on the best spot at our fishing pond. Should you prefer to go for the big ones, a fishing trip can be arranged to the nearby Hans Strijdom Dam.
If you are a keen birdie, then the Waterberg is where you want to be. Over 350 species have been recorded to date, with some of the rarest among that list. Berchtesgaden is situated in the centre of the Waterberg region and an ideal spot to keep you busy for days on end. Our location also serves as the perfect base camp from where the region can be explored.
On appointment you will be guided on a game drive on our private Game Ranch where plenty of plains game species and giraffe are sure to be spotted. On a night drive you might be able to spot predators like leopard, caracal, serval, genet, jackal and if lucky the bush babies. Should you wish to capture the big-5 on film, you will be able to do so at a world-renowned reserve nearby our borders.
How much better to experience mother-nature and what she has to offer than to do so by foot. On confirmation from the office you can set out and become one with the breath-taking Waterberg region. Be sure to bring extra batteries for your camera!
